Darksea Studios, established in 2007, is a team of media enthusiasts who work on various media related project both independently and collaboratively. Our team consists of specialists in live and post video/TV production, journalistic and artistic photography, graphic arts and various components of web development.
The team was originally thought up by two alumni of international schools in Tokyo. Shun Endo, from the St. Mary’s International School, and Tai Dirkse from the American School in Japan. The two were interested in creating a name that addresses their international school background. At first, they struggled to come up with a unique name. It was originally named “東kyo Studios” but in 2009, they renamed it Darksea Studios, naming it after Tai Dirkse.
